Dear Akylis,

Your family tells us that your life was heartbreakingly brief, but the love you brought into their lives is something they will carry forever.

You were born still, but you were still born into a family who loved you deeply. Your beautiful soul changed your family’s life forever, even in the short time they had with you. Your absence left a heartbreak that is difficult to explain, and a piece of their hearts went with you the day you left.

There are no words that can fully capture the depth of loving a child they could not bring home, hold for long, or watch grow. But your life mattered, and you will always be part of their family’s story.

Your family carries both the ache of losing you and the beautiful truth that they were blessed to know you, love you, and call you theirs.

We can't wait for our reunion in Heaven.
