Easton James Root met Jesus face to face on September 3, 2022.

Dear Easton,

Your family tells us you were a warrior from the very beginning. At only three weeks old, you underwent emergency surgery, showing a strength far beyond your tiny body. As you grew, you became an active, joyful little boy who loved to run, throw, and catch. You were so proud to earn the “Sports Superstar Award” in preschool, and you couldn’t wait for each new t-ball practice and game.

They tell us how focused and determined you were, with a hand-eye coordination that amazed everyone. But what stood out even more was your heart — the way you cheered on your teammates and showed kindness and good sportsmanship no matter the score.

Your family shares how bravely you faced your final battle in September 2022, when you went in for a liver transplant. Even when the doctors gave the hardest news, your life continued to shine with love. On September 3, surrounded by those who adored you, you peacefully drew your last breath and went home to Jesus.

Easton, your story is one of courage, joy, and love.

We can't wait for our reunion in Heaven.
