Lane Smith

Lane Smith’s earthly experience ended 12/24/2014 when he entered Heaven's Gates in the arms of Jesus.

Our dear Lane was born April 16, 1996 and was a joy each day there after. He was the smartest little guy and so much fun! 

Lane, “Laner” ----Attended Alpha Omega Academy 1st-12th grade. He loved school, family and friends. He always had a drive to be the best.He played many sports in his early years--BASEBALL was his passion. Lane joined the UHBC youth group his sophomore year. He gave his life to Jesus Christ during the FUSION youth weekend and his life forever changed. 

He actively participated in many youth mission trips and was continuing to serve his school by accepting the job to coach the first Jr High Baseball Team at AOA the Spring of 2015. 

Lane completed his first semester of SHSU with a 4.0 while working at the Rec Sports Center of SHSU.
After a night spent with his college ministry group, discussing their first semester of college, and the next morning….. duck hunting with his brothers, and family, Lane was called home. He was SAFE AT HOME, Christmas of 2014. 

His memory lives on in the lives of many and his legacy will live on forever. We host an annual event, the Lane Smith Classic, at Alpha Omega Academy. This is an annual alumni baseball game and fundraiser. 
This event is a cherished one and we appreciate all the attendance and support. Our event allows our family to award multiple scholarships for AOA seniors. We miss him dearly, and hold him in our hearts.
