Lori Guidry

Lori Guidry met Jesus face-to-face on August 27, 2022.

Dear Lori,

Your mom tells us you were her only child—her daughter, her best friend, her Sweet Pea.

She tells us that even in the middle of your sickness, the two of you still laughed together, prayed together, and cried together. That your bond was something deep and sacred—full of love, strength, and quiet joy. She misses your sweet hugs, your kisses, your laughter, and all the little moments that filled your life together.

Lori, your story is one of courage, determination, and grace. Born in Houston on July 1, 1977, you lived with such purpose. In high school at Nimitz, you excelled—winning awards in FFA and proudly serving as an athletic trainer, something you absolutely loved. You graduated in 1995 and went on to study at Houston Baptist University on an athletic training scholarship, all while working at Fisher Scientific. You were driven and full of promise.

Even when your health began to fail, you still found beauty in life. You loved traveling, painting, and collecting beautiful crosses. But your favorite joy was cooking—bringing family recipes to life with love and care. You had a heart for music, especially Christian songs that lifted your spirit and pointed to the One you trusted in.

Your mom says the pain of losing you will never go away, but what brings her comfort is knowing you're no longer hurting. She believes—with all her heart—that you are with Jesus, reunited with loved ones who went before you. And oh, how she looks forward to the day she will see you again.

Until that day, she holds onto the memories, the love, and the promise of Heaven. And she carries you with her, every single day.

“I love you, Sweet Pea,” she says.
And we all feel that love too.

We can’t wait for our reunion in heaven.

Until then…

Lori Guidry, you are loved and never forgotten.

Much love,

First Touch Family
