Stephen “Squirrel” Harris
Stephen Harris met Jesus face to face on July 8, 2022.
Dear Stephen,
Our hearts never crossed paths with yours here on earth, but through the loving words of your family, your light has reached us just the same.
They tell us that to know you was to love you. That you never met a stranger and had a heart wide open to just about everyone, especially your family. As the baby of the bunch, you looked up to your big brothers and sisters with admiration, and you absolutely adored your nieces and nephews. The love you gave was deep and full—and it left an imprint that still lingers in every story shared.
Your family smiles when they talk about that light in your eyes—eyes as blue as the summer sky and eyelashes that most would envy. They say your smile could brighten the darkest day, and that wherever you were, joy was sure to follow.
They remember you on the field and on the court—how baseball was your first love, but basketball became your way to let go and reset. After a long day, there was nothing better to you than a pickup game with friends. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was part of how you breathed.
Your nickname, “Squirrel,” came when you were just two years old—a name given by one of your bonus aunts. And like everything meaningful in your life, you carried it with pride, all the way home to Heaven.
They tell us you lived your “dash” well—the space between the day you arrived and the day Jesus called you home on July 8, 2022. You filled that space with laughter, love, faith, and unforgettable moments.
One story stands out especially: a Sunday morning in high school, when a man at church gave you a note with Jeremiah 29:11 written on it. That verse—"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord..."—became your anchor, your reminder that no matter what came, God’s love and purpose were always with you. You believed it, and it shaped how you lived.
Stephen, your family misses you with every beat of their hearts. And through their words, their memories, and their love, they’ve helped us know you too. We honor your life, your legacy, and the light you brought into the world. You are deeply loved. And your story continues—echoing in the lives of those who carry you with them every day.
We can't wait for our reunion in heaven!
Until then...
You are loved, Stephen "Squirrel" Harris, and never forgotten.
Much love,
Your First Touch Family
