The “WHY” behind the Pineapple Run

On March 29, 2019, Peyton Irwin was traveling to San Antonio Texas to support her Alma Mater Drill Team at a state competition. Unfortunately, Peyton never made it to the event because she, along with three other passengers in the vehicle, were killed by a distracted driver. The driver of the vehicle was on the phone texting - not seeing the stopped car Peyton was in - and applied his brakes just .06 seconds prior to hitting their vehicle while traveling approximately 60 miles per hour. It is so important to educate people on the dangers of texting, social media, handling phones, and other distractions while driving a vehicle. Had he been paying attention, he could have seen them and slowed down, or swerved to miss them. We want to prevent this from happening to anyone else!
