Matthew Hooker

Matthew Hooker met Jesus face to face on August 11, 2024.

Dear Matthew,

Your family and friends tell us that you had a way of drawing people in—like gravity with a grin. From your earliest days in kindergarten to your time working for the City of Huntsville, you made deep, lasting connections. You showed up for people—with a willing heart, a helping hand, and a laugh that could light up any moment. And oh, how that laugh is missed.

You were the kind of person who wanted to learn whatever someone else knew, just so you could help. Whether maintaining the fields where you once played Little League or starting your new journey in construction, you poured yourself into your work with pride and joy. You were dependable, thoughtful, and full of kindness—the kind of presence that made work feel less like work and more like friendship.

You were a loving son, a devoted fiancé, and a loyal friend. Your love for Raeleigh ran deep, and the two of you shared a beautiful bond full of dreams and unforgettable memories. Your family says you were passionate about baseball, deeply rooted in your hometown of Huntsville, and happiest when out deer hunting on the same lease you visited since childhood—a tradition and a love that led to your membership in the Bedias Sportsman Club.

There is a great void now where your laughter once rang out. You left too soon, but your impact remains—in every life you touched, every field you cared for, every moment you gave your full heart. You are missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.

We can't wait for our reunion in Heaven.

Until then...

Matthew Hooker, you are loved and never forgotten.

Much love, Your First Touch Family
